A six-part online course for church musicians

We have partnered with Emu Music to present an online course aimed to equip Malaysian music ministry teams with the key theological and practical skills. The concepts and principles in each unit can be applied to music teams both large and small, of any style or context.

Having grown out of their conference ministry, this is a great resource to work through with your music team or to help train new recruits. Whether you’ve been leading music in church for years or just starting out, we all need a solid Biblical and practical foundation to serve our churches faithfully and effectively.

What is it?

This course is brought to you by EMU Music in partnership with Equip Gospel Ministries. The course provides essential theological and practical training for anyone involved in church music ministry. It consists of 6 units:

  1. Introduction to Biblical music ministry
  2. Engaging the mind and heart
  3. True worshippers
  4. You are a song leader!
  5. Leading from your instrument: vocals, piano, guitar (coming soon: bass, drums & single note instruments)
  6. What songs should we sing?

Who is it for?

Word In Song Online is designed to prepare everyone for music ministry, from the lead pastor, to the song leader, to the tech team. It teaches concepts and principles that can be applied to music teams of any size, skill or context, and is useful for both seasoned and beginner church musicians.

How does it work?

The course material is presented in a combination of written text, interview & tutorial videos and printable worksheets, making it easy to work through with your church’s music team or on your own. Each unit takes approximately 1 hour to complete. The course is RM 60 per individual user (no expiry date).
